Mrs. Renfro’s Review + Giveaway
I recently reviewed four products from Mrs. Renfro’s. The quality and taste of each of these products is unbelievable. We will definitely be keeping Mrs. Renfro’s in our pantry. I can’t wait to try more of their products!
I had the green tomato pickles with a vegetable plate. They complimented that meal so well. I remember eating canned green tomatoes when I was young, those had a bit of a bite in them but these are just as delicious.
We used the next three products to make nachos. I browned some ground beef, mixed it with taco seasoning, chopped some tomatoes and onions and the meal was complete! We topped tortilla chips with the meat, added the chopped veggies, smothered with Mrs. Renfro’s roasted salsa and cheese dip, then topped the whole thing with the sliced jalapeno peppers. It was so good!
Here’s what we thought of each product:
Green Tomato Pickles
The green tomatoes are very tasty. The bite size pieces retain their tomato texture in the vinegar. They remind me of the green tomatoes my grandmother made from the garden every year. The flavor is good.
This salsa has a distinctly smoky flavor. It goes well with chips and is great on nacho’s. It has a great blend of flavors. The smokey roast flavor is unique and brings a wonderful taste to meals that you cannot find with other salsa. At least I’ve never tasted salsa like this before. It has enough spiciness to feel it but not enough to burn. This is the best jarred salsa I’ve ever had.
Excellent quality and the flavor is great. They don’t have a vinegary taste like I’ve tasted with other brands. The peppers are firm, not mushy at all. Not too hot but just hot enough. Perfect for my taste. I love pickled jalapeno to add a bit of kick to food, especially in my chili. I like to add the juice and some of the peppers. There is enough flavor and heat without making them impossibly hot. They are crunchy and spicy but not too hot where you can’t enjoy them.
Nacho Cheese Dip
This is a nice, thick, creamy cheese dip that has a nice spicy flavor. Besides using on my Nachos, I put it on steamed broccoli and it was perfect! This dip tastes great on everything we have tried it on. Tortilla chips, english peas, and brussel sprouts. Very versatile. This stuff is amazing! My husband keeps raving about this cheese dip. It is the best either of us has ever tasted.
